All About Burlap.  A plant that yields a textile fiber and used as a cloth, burlap cloth, Hessian Cloth. It is a raw material for burlap bags, burlap squares, packing material, dyed burlap for decorations, handicrafts, wall, floor & ceiling coverings, etc.  Often referred to as jute or Hessian cloth. It is sown during the rainy season in eastern countries such as India from March to May and harvested from June to September.  Being 100% bio-degradable and environmentally friendly, it has become one of the most important textiles available today.

The nature of this fabric is an uneven weave which gives its unusual effect.  It is not to be construed as flaws in the goods.  If cleaning is required, for best results dry clean.  7-ounce burlap is a lighter weight material, with fewer threads per square inch than 10-ounce.  It is available in plain, and treated burlap (nursery applications), in multiple sizes and widths in burlap rolls, bags, and  squares.  If you do not see what you need call us.  Note, burlap is a dried natural product and is flammable.  If you application involves any heat source such as: candles, cigarettes, hot lighting, or could cause it to burn, please use a fire retardant (see below).
